Inspicio started its growth with the acquisition of Inspectorate, a global leader in testing and inspection services, in October 2005.  Since then, it has made four further acquisitions - Environmental Services Group from Mowlem plc in April 2006; Eclipse Scientific Ltd completed in August 2006; Scientifics Ltd in June 2007 and Precision Monitoring and Control Ltd in December 2008. Inspicio is wholly owned by 3i and the Group’s management and employees. 

Rapid economic growth and increased international trade also underpin the long-term growth in Inspicios core markets.  We now have three market leading divisions:

- Commodities, Inspection and Testing through Inspectorate

- Environmental Testing through Environmental Scientifics Group

- Food Testing: through Eclipse Scientific Group

 

Inspectorate
Inspectorate is a world leader in inspection and laboratory analysis of traded commodities with over 130 offices and 5,000 employees. Since its acquisition into the Inspicio Group, the Inspectorate business is progressing well and the results reported so far demonstrate that the business is turning around in line with our expectations.

 

Environmental Scientifics Group (ESG)
ESG is a leading provider of testing solutions for both naturally occurring and built environments. It combines some of the UK's best-known environmental brands to deliver integrated 'cradle to grave' services to customers throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and the Middle East. This acquisition added 17 new offices and 1000 employees to the Inspicio Group.

Eclipse Scientific Group

Eclipse Scientific provide a comprehensive range of microbiological, physical and chemical testing services combined with industry leading technical expertise and customer service. Each of their 12 laboratories across the UK and Ireland is UKAS or INAB accredited to ISO 17025 with other relevant accreditations in place where necessary.
